Summer is here with a bang! Temperatures are high and so is the humidity; but we did look forward to this when we had ten inches of snow on the ground this last winter. It seems that we poor humans are never satisfied with our weather or circumstance in life.

Maybe that is why Paul encouraged us to learn to be content in whatever state we found ourselves. He states in Philippians 4:11-13 “I do not say this out of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know both how to have a little, and I know how to have a lot. In any circumstances I have learned the secret of being content whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me.”

What we forget from time to time is that our happiness depends not on what we have or do not have, it is dependent on our personal relationship with Jesus. As Christians, worldly possessions and money can never satisfy us. His Holy Spirit within us teaches us that we are not of this world. We are instead citizens of a different Kingdom and until we get to our home in that Kingdom, we need to be content with what He has provided for us.

God Bless you each and every one,
Bro. Howard

Youth

Thank you for the opportunity you have given me in being our new youth leader. We have been busy trying to create the best Worship and Fellowship experience that we can for our youth. The youth team and I have already implemented some changes regarding Wednesday night. To date, we have added worship time through music, and we have been focusing on hands on object lessons. Also, we have compiled feedback from our youth on things they enjoy and things that they really do not like. Parents are also being asked to provide feedback. We want to use this information to ensure we are providing everything we can that our youth expect and need from their Church family.

Thanks to Greg Hyatt we have done a complete overhaul of our website. I strongly encourage you to go to our Church webpage and click on TEENS. This page provides a place our kids can go to see an event schedule, find my contact info, and much more.

Please continue to pray for our youth, our youth team, and myself.

PS: If you are interested in working with our youth, we always have room on our team!!

Wow! What a great start to the summer with our recently completing Vacation Bible School and Church Camp. It was a grand time learning about how God loves us. He wants to have a GREAT relationship with us, through the gift of salvation paid through His Son Jesus’ death on the cross. In VBS we learned how to get our foundation right and let God build us up! During Church Camp we continued to develop our relationship with God and friends as we spent a week away at Spring Lake Assembly in Lonsdale, Arkansas. There were many days of fun and excitement, and many sandwiches eaten too :), but most of all many decisions for Christ!! Welcome our new brothers and sisters in Christ as they come forth in the days and weeks ahead for baptism.

I hope you are as excited as we are about the great start to our summer! Look for further activities to get together and share our lives together, as we continue to share the love of God with our community.

Reminder…. we will be having a VBS appreciation lunch after service on Sunday July 11, 2021, in the fellowship hall to celebrate all the support for VBS. Please let the office know you will be coming so we can prepare enough food!

Looking forward to the days ahead!
